Exams are next week and it's just now that I am feeling tired and don't want to study. Urgh what an attitude. Well next week the exams are gonna be all humanities - English, French, German, geography. Geog does require some studying... :/ but well. Tsk. Case studies about Kenya and Japan are driving me crazy so i'll leave that aside for a while (not too long I hope) and mug later heh.

Well the thing that made my day on Friday was that I was chosen to be one of the 2 student speakers for my grade during the MYP celebration evening, something like MG's founder's day service when the head prefect goes up to give a speech. Passed my application and interview, yessss. Hahahahahaha. Gonna be doing it with Martina my Italian friend and yes we shall both create an awesome 10 minute speech. Well the other guy who applied for this role unfortunately didn't get it and idk why but I'm feeling kind of bad for him. Like I wanted him to get it but on the other hand I want to get it for myself. Selfish much? sigh.

I got it. End of story.

Okay I should go and do some work.

Went for a radiobroadcasting workshop today. SUPER COOL. It was run by a BBC journalist/live reporter and he's been to Libya, Egypt, North Korea, India, Sri Lanka - all these exotic places to report! Such a cool job, but pretty dangerous too. We got a chance to listen to several of his live reports on broadcast and TV, and I heard him scrambling to safety amongst the Egyptian crowd to escape from tear gas!

Tomorrow is session 2 of the workshop and we'll be spending the whole day at the Radio X studios in Basel. RECORDING! Plus interviewing my English teacher who is a renowned Irish poet too. Hopefully I'll be chosen to be on air out of like 16 others? But well I guess it wouldn't matter much if I'm not chosen - just the experience to be in it is just so exciting already. We get to work alongside with current broadcasters and journalists - pretty awesome workshop; plus everything is free. You hardly ever get free services in Basel at all.

Exams are approaching soon. They're next week. And in 2 weeks' time. Once again, I've become a last-minute person and I haven't started revising yet. But too bad my mind's on broadcasting at the moment, so I don't think I'll have any time to study this weekend... :/

OKAY SUPER QUICK POST.

Tennis was fun although we didn't win anything. I think everyone bonded really well as a team and our cooperation improved so much! :) And yeah, now I know how to take super fast serves by some crazy ppl. Yay.

And well, little things make up my day. :)

MY MUM FINALLY BOOKED THE FLIGHT TO SINGAPORE AND MALAYSIA. Only staying in Singapore for 2 days, but I guess I should be happy! :D

So, I've been watching a whole load of Singapore election rallies by different parties. I think, it's gonna be a close fight. Now all the opposition parties are getting much stronger than before. Chen Show-Mao stood out from Workers' Party. So did Nicole Seah from NSP. And Tin Pei Ling is a joke from PAP, sorry to say. My dad told me Chen Show-Mao was his former JC classmate hahaha. Such a small world. ><

Well really, I find that CSM wasn't all that smart to return to Singapore after 40 years overseas and having a great time in USA, China, Hong Kong... And to relocate his whole family back to Singapore too. But sigh, I guess that's what you call true patriotism. :/

Nicole Seah seems pretty matured for her age, considering she's like 7 years older than me??! Damn I am rather old. :( Anyway, from the interviews I saw online, she's definitely handling the media way better than Tin Pei Ling her competitor. Haha same GRC even. :o But well, from what she says of her background, I still doubt if she truly has the capability to be an excellent politician. She still has lots to learn, and yeah she's young; she has time.

Exams are drawing closer. Teachers haven't finished the syllabus. (Actually there's no set syllabus in MYP.) Basically, we're not ready. I'm not ready. But in the end, if I flunk the MYP exams, TOUCH WOOD, it's still not the end of the world like if I were taking IB exams now because MYP exams hold quite a small percentage only. :P

But still, knowing me...

:D

My holiday to eastern Europe was awesome. :) For more info, go look at my pics on Facebook. hehehehehe.

Back to 2 more months of school. EOYs in 1 month. And the teachers haven't even given us any revision sheets nor have we covered the full syllabus yet. -.- Deadness much. But anyway, there're so many more extra things to do. Like filling out the Community and Service forms and preparing a final presentation for it. It's quite weird I find. Like doing an oral presentation on a CIP activity. :/

For drama, we're doing script-writing currently and today it was the 1st public reading session. Didn't get to my script I wrote with a friend, but it's pretty cool to listen to other people's scripts and stories. :P The fun thing is that you get to choose your own actors and actresses for whichever roles in your play! But well, I kind of got an indirect view of how my friends perceive me to be. I got big roles in their plays, but the nerdy ones, such as 'doctor' or 'forensics team assistant', whereby the lines were super science-based and my costume would be a labcoat. -.- I think they think I'm a nerd. -.- That's why I fit big "science-y" roles because they know I'll put in effort to memorise the lines, plus I already have the look. Thanks a lot. Just because maybe my Maths is a little bit better than most people in the grade... :( I don't know whether to be happy or angry. Anyway, I hope those plays won't be chosen as our final class presentation play.
