121st post since I don't know when. Ahhh school hasn't been going too well so far. :( IB stress is kicking in definitely. Grades are like whoosh down the hill. 4 for French oral, 5 for French essay, 5 for Bio test, some sucky score for Bio lab report, 6 for Maths test when some guy scores nearly 100%... okay, 7 for Chem which was good and made my day. But other than that the work load is horrible. :'(

Urgh and I have a French written exam plus a French individual oral presentation next week. I shudder. I actually feel scared speaking in front of the class, knowing that I'm gonna make silly errors in vocab and grammar unconsciously, without knowing. Well that's basically what pulled my essay grade down, too many grammar errors and weird vocab until the meaning the essay got diluted. Something of that sort. Hmph. Okay I'll hold on until October. I'm actually becoming accustomed to hearing fast French. :/

Yeahhh and Bio grade boundaries are way too high!! 90% for a 7?!! Like I got a 75% for the test then I drop down to a 5. Ewww. Means I better work harder or sth. Don't tell me to chill because my life is pretty messy now.

English Lit... HL. A rather fun and interesting class, but terribly difficult. I thought I tried my best, ends up I scraped a pass for the essay. -.- Oh my teacher is so so funny; we're reading Death and the Maiden now and it has sexual innuendoes everywhere and the 3 boys in my class start giggling. SO she made everyone say 'cocks and panties' so that we'd get over this laughing stage and deal with the sexual connotations sanely. Well now the boys are kinda crazy over this phrase; they repeat it every day. It's rather amusing, but sometimes I just need to tell them to shut up. Haha. Oh my English lessons. :P

Hmm I've been playing quite some table soccer during my lunchtimes. :) So fun. And I choose boys to play against - the only way to improve right? I mean girls usually suck. AND IT IS SO FUN TO BEAT BOYS :) So far I haven't lost to any boy yet hehehe. Well except for one because I deliberately gave him the last point of our 2nd game so that his egoistic self wouldn't be too damaged. -.- 10-9.

This is bad; seems like table soccer is the only thing I'm doing well in in school...? :o

Gonna check out some American colleges this Sunday. Duke, Stanford, UPenn and Georgetown are going to Zurich for a presentation, so I guess I'm going there with my mum to listen to what they've got to say. Not like I can get in. :s

Full marks for the first ToK oral presentation! Whoohoooooo. Okay it was only worth 5 marks, but it has really pumped me up. I love ToK haha. Talking about all sorts of crap spices up my life indeed. Well that's to start off on a happy note. Things get worse. 9/13 for first Maths pop quiz when people actually get full marks. Stupid mistakes as always. English poetry commentary today; I can go kill myself for taking Eng Lit HL because the poem was so hard I didn't get it at first! After staring and re-reading it a billion times, I think I got sth out of it. Hopefully my interpretation is right... And what else... French oral tomorrow DIE DIE. French essay due this Friday and I'm only 40% done, and I know it's lousy anyway. Chem test next week on crazy mole concepts which I need so much practice on but can't find time to. -.-

Right enough about the workload. Know what? I think I'm becoming a REBEL. My parents told me to quit the school play, but no, I'm staying. Well I got a role with 5 lines ahaha. Not main duh but no silent either. ;) we are acting Oklahoma, a musical with some romance and comedy. Should be pretty fun; some songs are already stuck in my head. Really bad because during the English commentary today the silly tune was playing over and over again in my head; freaking distracting.

I should stop procrastinating and get on with my Biology lab report. So mafan.

Oh yeah last night was a mid-autumn festival fair and exhibition in Basel. Never knew Basel had such stuff. Thanks to David (the abc) who told me about it. More well-informed than me hmm.

SAT prep classes are the most boring ever!! Thankfully I managed to complete my English and Maths homework and the teacher didn't really care. Have so much homework all of a sudden over this weekend...

MYP graduation evening was pretty amazing yesterday! I got the Maths award and the Academic Achievement award for top scorer (everyone was like stereotyping Asians yeah yeah). :) my valedictorian speech with Martian went quite well, got some laughter and all. ;) 7 and a half minutes thereabouts. I think Martins was more nervous than me or sth haha. Oh well I wasn't too scared once at the podium. :p Mr Cox was the guest teacher speaker and it was a short but pretty interesting speech. He revealed quite a bit about himself, and since he is a PE teacher, it was quite refreshing to see him clad in a suit and tie. Haha. Martina got the English award, Emilie the Sciences award, Eevi the humanities award, and hey they're all from my girl gang!! Whoots. We rock. :)

And then after the MYP grad evening we went for the late night party at carter's awesome mansion-like house. I mean, who has an indoor swimming pool and sophisticated bar to serve drinks at home?! Plus chandeliers everywhere! :O I left really early but still got home one hour late and my parents flipped. Okay. No more allowance for idk how many months. My dad even wanted me to quit the volleyball team. Wth no. And I think I'll be grounded for life at this rate if their anger doesn't subside. :( sorry.

Okay 2 more days and it is gonna be the MYP Celebration Evening!

Sigh but i don't feel particularly excited. It's like okay I graduated from the MYP already and I am in the IB - tough life. But oh well at least I get to dress up YAY. :D

School has been okay. English Lit lessons are actually really fun! My teacher cracks sick jokes all the time and it's pretty amusing. :D And ToK has been interesting so far. Knowledge = Justified true belief. Cool definition. :) Maths HL is challenging but so far so good. French... I have trouble participating in class because everyone talks so fast plus my teacher asks the weirdest questions ever.

Lala I have some homework to do. But tsp procrastinating. In Grade 11 and 12, you are entitled to using the Common Room, which is the funnest place ever. I actually get to play table soccer with boys! Since I've beaten everyone at home, it's not so fun to play at home, but school's just awesome. I cannot play soccer for nuts, but table soccer DEFINITELY. :D I beat a few boys and girls at it alr (played doubles though, not singles) but it's still amazing. :)

Hmm uploading old pictures taken over the summer although my sis was supposed to upload them but LAZY HER. Need to clear the camera because my sis is supposed to video me doing the student representative speech during the MYP Celebration Evening as my mum would most probably miss it.

Okayyyy. So today I received my MYP results. Found out I'm the top scorer of my grade for the MYP. But idk, not that i did particularly well either. I know I'm supposed to feel happy, but somehow, this feeling just isn't here. Teachers and friends congratulate me, sure, and I say thank you really cheerfully, but inside it isn't the same. :/

61 out of 63; 9 core subjects and 3 extra ones that were not counted. All 7s, 6 for English and 6 for PE. Freaking mad. ENGLISH. Of all subjects. I really wanted a miracle to happen or sth, but obviously no miracle did for English.

Oh I recently changed my subject option English Lang and lit HL to English Lit HL because my former class had a bunch of idiots whom I didn't want to work with. I know Eng Lit HL is the most challenging language course in the IB and I most probably won't touch a 7, but I guess I'll still work hard for self-improvement and enjoyment of literature even though I can't do it well. :s my new teacher is totally amazing, much better than my former teacher, and the people are the smart bunch so it's good and I am happy.

Every other subject is fun, very challenging since I am taking 4 HLs, and French A, but I'll try. I'll try I'll try and don't give up. :) school just keeps getting better every day because I've found more sincere new friends, but certainly I love the 6 subjects I have chosen.

For French, we are discussing French slang (argot), which is really difficult for me because i am not native and thus do not understand slang. To make things more difficult, French slang cannot be found in dictionaries. But I think I'll carry on with this course until I get a grade in November. Like if I get a 3 or 4 then I'll definitely change. If not.... well French is still awesome for me because it's the only language I actually truly love. Unexplainable.

Oh yeah and i'm the Environment Committee Chair for Basel MUN 2012. Had to complete the MUN conference letter by last weekend, told my slack co-chair to come do the work with me after school. What does he do? Run off after school. Sends me an email half an hour later that he is sorry. -.- I didn't buy his argument cos he used the school email, which meant he had to be somewhere in school to access the email! Unless he has a 3G phone which is unlikely. Confronted him the next day, but kind of forgave him and let the matter pass. 2 days ago, he gave me 5 macaroons from Basel's most expensive and exquisite pastry shop. Great? So that's how he apologizes? Okay then wtv. I thought I already forgave him. -.- suck-up freak. He's just afraid I may complain to the teachers about his lack of attitude in MUN. (which I won't ever do)
