WHEEEE... I haven't posted for quite some time. Hmm, it's coming to the end of August, and I've spent 2 weeks at ISB. Proved to be really fun; making friends still, cutting out my Singlish and teaching friends a bit of Chinese. Haha!
I don't know where to start! Once Monday comes, the next thing you know it's Friday. That's how fast school passes by and I wish it could be longer. Really... Cos the teachers know how to waste a lot of time anyway.
My sister has started learning French, and she can't even remember her numbers properly; which is making me extremely frustrated. We revise like this at home - I say the numbers in German and she says them in French and German. Hah. Good practice. Btw, my German isn't progressing that fast because the school's a bit disorganised and the 1st 2 weeks were sorting out classes and rooming.
Oh, here you walk to the teachers' classroom, not like in Singapore where the teacher walks to your classroom. So I've been sort of brisk-walking around the whole school every day to get to different classrooms on different levels. Thus every class you have has different people. Yeah you get to meet more people, more friends, but you don't become close to them. Like everyone is acquainted to each other.
Here, the style is write your own answer. In Singapore, mostly everything is model answer. So when I do my homework or in class, I'm always asking myself, is this the politically correct answer? I know I shouldn't be doubting like this, because the answer's for you to find out and not for you to copy and that's it. Sigh. My first Maths pop quiz - I couldn't even get full marks. Totally careless. Stupid me. Oh and I achieved a great feat - I studied the basics of Trigonometry all on my own one evening by doing 50 questions! Hahaha. Yay. That's because all the students in my grade studied it last year and I have to catch up and the teacher's not gonna revisit that part of Trig.
For this season (Autumn) I decided to try out for the Cross-Country team and Volleyball team. I think CC I should be okay, but my volleyball is so horrible. Oh and there are only sports activities after school, so yeah, if not you know me I'm not really a good sports person. Hopefully, all will turn out well. :D
That's about it for now. :P

Oh my I just found out my ISB PE shorts are from Adidas. No wonder it's so expensive. D: And it's specially for football. -.- Weird.
And I just realised something which I should remark on. Haha. French people love to speak French; even to foreigners who don't understand French. They know you're speaking in English, and they answer in French. With hand actions so that the other party can comprehend. I see similarities. When in France, the French waiters speak French all the way. If they suddenly switch to English as they know you don't speak French, then they're not French; might be German or Italian (another nationality). Well I'm not sure if this is a generalisation, but that's what I observed. Isn't Madame Tournay quite like that too? Hah.
Okay... I'm counting down the hours to my 1st day in school, a school that isn't MGS, not in Singapore and not local. Yay. :)

Yay yay yay. School is starting tomorrow. A lot of administrative things to clear though. Because my furniture is also arriving at my house tomorrow. Omg, everything is tomorrow! :O
Well I went for the orientation talk for new families yesterday. The speech by the director of the school was kind of boring, and my dad got restless, played with his phone and it rang accidentally. Hahaha! He's like being so immature, unlike ME... :P There were so many people! (A lot of new families) Most of them are westerners of course. Only saw 3 other Asian families? I checked the parent-student address book which the school compiled for new families, and found out that my batch doesn't have a single Asian! So that means I'm the only Asian, or perhaps, East Asian girl? Haha. I'll be so recognisable with black hair. ;) Good and bad.
My sis and I had to buy the school PE attire, which is a white T-shirt and red shorts. Red shorts. :P Looks a bit weird I thought. I think I prefer MG's PE attire. White T-shirt with navy blue shorts. Haha. And MG's PE T-shirt has more style! It has MGS written in Italic on the back, whereas 'International School Basel' is written in Times New Roman font. A bit boring. ISB looks really fun - the programme and all (and the teachers are very friendly!) but I sort of miss having uniform. Now I have to keep thinking about what to wear the next day every day. D: My dad realised a lot of girls wear make-up and he was like, Are you going to follow them? Haha. At the moment, no, because I don't have make-up anyway. -.- One step at a time. Choosing clothes is troublesome enough. My new class: 9B. :) I'll be in Grade 9 from Aug'09-June'10, which is the equivalent of Sec 3 in Singapore.
You know I can't believe it; I actually, for a moment, forgot my French numbers! Like I didn't know how to go on after 10!! D: OH NO. But well now it's all back. :) And my French prepositions kind of slipped out of my mind for a while. It's indeed painful searching for the word. I guess the thing I can read best in French now is the menus. Haha. Cos I go to restaurants most often and if in France, speak to the waiters in French. :P But I still become blank at times though. :'( Hopefully my French will all come back in ISB.
Btw I feel so short. The girls about my age are taller than me. :( And they're not on heels. Argh. Fine I guess it's because of my race/blood. :P I haven't grown since the start of the year. NOT HAPPY. D:
Looking forward to induction tomorrow! :D

Back to posting, after like... forever... Haha.
Back from my summer hol trip to Austria and Germany. :D Vienna, Salzburg, Mondsee, Munich. Wheehee. Had a bit of language trouble with the locals since we're nobodys in German. D: I loved Mondsee because the atmosphere was just totally relaxing. Imagine. A really wide lake with clear water, and mountains in the background. Always around, every day, for you to gaze at. Well for me, 1 night. D: It's a small town, with cathedrals, and a small town area with shops and restaurants. But I think cycling around in the forests on the bicycle tracks will be really fun. Austrian food is quite nice; I love the dumplings! Haha, I ate so much I got sick of them. Went to visit Mozart's birthplace and residence. Saw Beethoven's Eroica house too (where he spent his summer working on a symphony named Eroica but didn't complete it). My sis and I got a hand-drawn portrait of ourselves on an A3 sheet of paper by a roadside artist in Vienna. My mum managed to bargain to 30 euros. Sat there for about 20mins for the artist to draw. :P Turned out that my portrait look prettier than me. Haha! Longer eyelashes than usual, neater hair and fringe etc. Pity I don't have high cheekbones. Heh. My mum did loads of shopping, like searching for small figurines/sculptures to put around the house. Cute, but I thought she bought a bit too many for the first round. Oh wells. The bad thing about the trip was that I had a sudden bout of stomachaches and bloating and I couldn't eat when I was hungry. How torturous. Like I've been injected with amylase-inhibitor or sth of that sort. Anyway I've posted the photos of the trip on Facebook, so feel free to look! :D
Yay, 19 August, school reopens! :D My 1st day of school. In a mixed school. Perhaps not. MOELC can be counted as my 1st day in a mixed... learning environment. Haha. But yeah, it was fun both ways, mixed or not. So hopefully I'll have a great time at ISB. ;D Heh I seriously need to make friends as fast as possible! Need to be more sociable. And perhaps braver. :P Yes, do what I did in P1. But I kind of forgot the style and strategy. D: Haha wtv.
Thinking about P1... I was just so innocent! 1st day of school and I went home telling my parents I've made friends with the whole class! Well, nearly the whole class. There weren't any cliques, cos everyone was new; and everyone was just so nice to each other. Oh my wonderful memories of MG primary will never fade. And then for the next 8.5 years from 2001 I spent my life there! Wow.
My subject combi for Grade 9 and 10: English, French, German, Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography, Drama, Maths. Yay I'd better ace them. Or else I'll be lagging behind Singapore standards. :P
And Kenny made my day for telling me I got 88.sth% for Controle 2! Haha. And like I didn't study as hard as I did for Controle 1 but got a higher score. So weird. But now here when I watch French shows, I can't understand. I can pick out a few words and phrases here and there, but not in time to piece everything together. Anyway no offence to the French, I find French movies/shows quite boring. :/
I miss Singapore. And I was missing Malaysian food. D: Gotta get over this soon. OH! And congratulate me, I've managed to stay the same weight for 3mths+! Haha YAY YAY YAY! I need a round of applause for encouragement for my challenge for the next 3 months! Hopefully this can go on for the next few years... ;) I need to love salads as much as I love fries. Argh. This is hard. Because I hate salad and its dressing.
Nvm nvm nvm. Looking forward! :)

Wheee! Enough about sad incidents. On to happy memorable ones! That's actually what my blog's for. ;D
1 Aug: SWISS NATIONAL DAY! Now Switzerland's 718 years old! WOW! Compared to Singapore turning 44 in a few days' time. Haha. The 2hr-long fireworks were amazingly loud and BIG. It was by the river, and since I live 2 streets away from the river, I thought I could watch the spectacular fireworks from the balcony of my apartment. AND YES, I did! Haha. It was just so beautiful. It was so bright it lit up half the night sky. And Singapore's few fireworks totally can't beat the Basel ones. Haha! There was one firework that kept "growing" larger, for quite a long time. Then it gradually started shrinking and finally one spark was left. And poof it disappeared. How entertaining. :P
The next day I went for a drive through the Black Forest in Germany. It's full of pine trees that appear black during the winter in contrast with the snow. I saw ski-lifts here and there during the drive. Not utilised now of course. But well I guess the ski resorts there are really great! That reminds me, I haven't skied for about 3 years! :O I need to learn to ski again. :P
Stopped by at Colmar, a small French town, for dinner. Yay I put my knowledge of speaking in restaurants to good use. :) It was quite late so the shops were all closed and the city centre was quite deserted, except that the cafes were open. I might visit Colmar again. Heard it's a great place to buy shoes. And it's the little Venice of France! ;)
Oh, school's starting soon! 2 more weeks! Yay! Home can be a bit boring sometimes... Honestly, I've forgotten all the Maths and Physics I've learnt this year already. Sigh. Need to tune back. Hahaha.

Sigh. I've finally finished glueing up the shattered pieces of my heart. My heart's mended. At least it wasn't beyond repair.
Shan't talk about why I cried. Well I wasn't angry, disappointed or sad, I was just so so confused. And now I've got a self-record of crying for 1hr+. Heh. Until no more tears flowed out of my eyes. But somehow, I was still crying. And just couldn't stop. Omg, I couldn't speak properly. It was just so weird. It was a small matter. But it was so much worse than crying over English, Maths or Physics. The worst crying incident I've ever been through.
I guess drinking really did help. Hah. Unknowingly I gulped down a few small glasses of water. Yes, water, so I was so sober. And always sober enough to think through everything carefully.
I don't know if this incident really hurt me. I cried. But it wasn't the depressed kind of crying. Before I did what I did, I'd already known what the consequences were. And I knew how everyone was going to react. But I didn't care. I know I'm selfish. I was always very selfish. I wanted to do the most rebellious thing. And then get punished, cry, and be done with it. My plan worked! Mission successful. But now thinking of it, was it worth my tears? And my heart going through such pain? I'm still searching for an answer.
Actually I don't think an answer's required. I should leave this in history and never come back to it again.
