This is kind of late but I honestly need to post this. Oct 2, there was another Cross-country meet in Lausanne, Switzerland, and yay I wasn't last! :D 26th position out of 32 girls is an improvement. :D Fine it's still last 10 but who cares. Well the course was comparatively easier than the Frankfurt one; less uphill. But a good experience overall. It was really cold that day, about 16dC+, and I really didn't want to take off my jacket and track pants... But I had to in the end. It was the Swiss Group International Schools (SGIS) Competition, so no schools from other parts of Europe, only from Switzerland. :)
And the Autumn break has started! Apparently I've been slacking away, but there's only 2 pieces of homework! :D An English essay and a History worksheet. Not that they're super easy, but it's much more manageable. :) NOT LIKE IN SINGAPORE WHERE THE TEACHERS PILE YOU WITH A MOUNTAIN FOR EACH DAY. So I have time to plan a running schedule so that my coach can see my improvement. Hopefully. Haha. Oh and I was thinking of trying to bake a cake on my own (without telling my mum, hehe). Okay I haven't baked before and I pulled out one of my mum's really ancient recipes and thought this is a good way of improving my skills for Food Technology (a subject in school). I went to buy most of the ingredients today, BUT I discovered my mum threw our whisk away before we moved! URGH. The whisk! I guess I'll have to buy one for myself. D: Hot Chocolate cheesecake. :D I sincerely hope it'll turn out good. Anyway I'm prepared for a great deal of scolding from my mum for my kitchen experiments. I don't care; her scoldings aren't that severe to me anymore. :P
Oh I just realised that if I'm making a cake and trying to run for exercise, it's totally making no sense. Run = losing calories; Cake = gaining calories. -.- NEVER MIND. For my parents. :) So far in school I've learnt how to cook a few dishes from European and Mexican cuisines. I feel accomplished!
7 weeks in school. 7 weeks of German. :) Now I can introduce myself rather fluently. :D And some boys in my class speak German to each other, so I try to catch anything I can. Well, one or two words sometimes. But at least it's something! :)The boys are horrible; I think partly they speak German it's because German's their mother tongue, and partly because they don't want people like me who can't speak German to understand what they're talking about.
And I know my English has never been that great, but to think some students whose English is not their mother tongue can score better than me is rather depressing. Oh well. :(
Hmm, I'm not sure if we're going back to Singapore and Malaysia next year for CNY. Cos that means skipping school for about 1-2 weeks...? Oh I'm not sure if we're going back during the winter hols or not...

Haha, yay, down to blogging at last! :P Reached Basel, my new apartment with a wonderfully BIG balcony, and yes got used to having German surrounding me. Everything is in German, sometimes there're French or Italian, making me an illiterate person here. D: And there are hardly any Asians over here; that's why my family gets stares and even shouts of 'ni hao' or 'konichiwa' from friendly passers-by. Haha. They can't tell the difference between a Chinese or a Japanese or a Korean. Well, same for us Asians, we can't tell who's French, Swiss or German...
Into summer now, all the flowers are in bloom and bees are buzzing away... So when my family and I have an al-fresco dinner, bees come, instead of houseflies in Singapore. I think houseflies are better though; you don't need to worry about them stinging you... :P The Swiss apples here are so so SWEET!!! :D So I eat about 2 a day. Haha. (Double protection from the doctor.) Hmm, and the milk is so fresh and nice. 2.5% fat though. And that's low-fat milk I buy. -.- Sigh. Biscuits and bread smell really good. OH and the ice-creams taste like heaven! All ice-creams have brands... like BIG BRANDS eg Movenpick so it's super expensive and super fat and super yummy. OH NO. If I go on eating like this, I'm gonna put on so much weight. D:
So sad, my lovely daisies from Sarah, Annette and Marian all died today. Lived for 1 week. I threw the stalks away, but I kept the petals. :) They're currently under my heavy suitcase cos I'm pressing them. A plastic bag full of (still bright) yellow daisy petals. Didn't/Haven't shown my parents cos they'll just scold me for being dumb. BUT THESE FLOWER PETALS HAVE SENTIMENTAL VALUES! Hahaha. :)
I can't wait for school to start, seriously. I can't wait to start learning German for real in school. If I go on doing housework and cooking every day, I'll be bored to death. Now I've at least ruled out one possibility of an occupation for myself- to be a housewife. Never!! HAHA! ;)
Every day it's getting hotter and hotter... as we're approaching the peak of summer... Cost of living here is so much more expensive than in Singapore... But well, for better things, you have to sacrifice something. :(
